'Giv You Luv' opens the EP on a joyous note with its steady drums, playful claps, lush chords and stirring synth pads, giving the song an airy, open-space feeling that's heartwarmingly completed with its reassuring vocal drop. From sheer joy to pure emotion, 'Take My Soul' unveils itself next as a deeply emotional and melancholic cut. Each element is heavily infused with sentiment, from the dismal bass line notes to the profound synth pad and ending with a powerful nostalgic male vocal cut. To top things off, a permeating wistful chord line drops right in the middle of the track, perfectly landing inside the arrangement and straight into your heart. The flipside takes us back to Dachshund's trademark groovy, deep and dark four by four sound, but all with a twist, of course. The steadily swinged low-slung foundation of 'Mmmmm' meets subtle tribal elements and hypnotic layers of introspective eyes-closed late-night delirium while a spanish man to woman dialogue adds a sensual feel, transforming the aptly titled track into an erotic afterhours feeler. The Chicago-based Vanguard Sound founder and underground legend, Amir Alexander takes 'Mmmmm' and re-fits it into a delirious electro-tinged sweat-inducing club monster. Even though he keeps most of the original elements and construction, his rougher and more erratic touch is more felt than heard. The addition of even more swing and a sublime bass line that's not too harsh, not too mellow, just perfectly modulated and resonated transform the track into a powerful crowd mesmeriser.
